Hey, what’s that thing called again? You know, the thingy that does the thing? Story corner with Marisa König Beatty (AKA Kulturmama).
In this story corner with Marisa König Beatty (AKA Kulturmama) we’ll playfully explore how we name things: through storytelling, singalongs, lively conversation and hands-on creative activities. Created for children ages 4-7 accompanied by their caregivers, all are welcome. 16:00-16:45 in English.
The UZH Ethnographic Museum is currently undergoing a renaming process and is seeking a new name. The reading workshop accompanies this transition.
Marisa König Beatty
Marisa König Beatty is a book lover, new co-owner of the 1002F (mille et deux feuilles) bookstore, a storyteller, dancer, cultural entrepreneuse, immigrant, intercultural facilitator, mom, community builder, and lifelong learner. She also happens to be the fiercely proud mother of two, colourful humans.
As a reader for children through her alter-ego, Kulturmama, Marisa believes that stories can open dialogue with children and help them in developing the emotional awareness and critical thinking skills they need to become equitable citizens in an ever changing world. She strives to support humans of all ages to discover joy in reading, and believes strongly in the power of stortyelling and play to open spaces for deep learning and exchange, for littles and “bigs” (families and caregivers) alike.
