Damani struggles. Every day she looks after her mother, drives the elderly lady Mrs Patrice to play bingo, while she earns less and less from the driving service app. The bills pile up, her anger at the world grows. Until one day Jolene sits in her car. She seems like the perfect friend – attentive, attractive, an ally. Maybe Damani can look past what's holding her back: She has never dated a woman with money, let alone a white woman with money. But just as Damani learns to trust her, Jolene does something unforgivable and sets off an explosive series of events. «Your Driver is Waiting» is a fast-paced and deeply political novel about fast car rides, anger, love and privilege in their most contemporary form.
